Newbridge is smack bang in County Kildare, an area known for its equestrian tradition, which thankfully translates into plenty of open green spaces. The jewel in the crown is undoubtedly Newbridge Town Park and the lovely Liffey Linear Park, both providing ample room for walks and a bit of zoomies. The River Liffey itself offers scenic riverside paths, meaning you’ll never be stuck for a spot to get your steps in. The Curragh, while not strictly Newbridge, is a stone’s throw away and offers vast open plains ideal for off-lead exercise, provided you’re mindful of the racehorses!
However, it’s not all plain sailing. While the green spaces are excellent, designated, enclosed dog parks with secure fencing are thin on the ground, meaning owners of recall-challenged pups might find limited safe areas for off-lead play within the town itself. Furthermore, as a bustling commuter town, navigating the town centre with a dog can be a bit of a squeeze, and finding readily available public water bowls is a struggle, meaning you’ll need to be prepared.
